Curbside Consults

Ask a specialist. Get a thoughtful answer — without the consult note.

What are Curbside Consults?

Curbside Consults is an asynchronous consultation tool where physicians post focused clinical questions and receive answers from specialists across the Medgram community. It captures the informal “hallway consult” — quick, targeted questions that don’t require a formal referral but benefit from specialist input.

How it works

Post your question with relevant clinical context. Specialists in the relevant field are notified and can respond with their assessment, recommendations, and references. You receive multiple perspectives in one place, and the thread is saved for future reference.

Why it matters

Not every clinical question needs a formal referral, but many benefit from specialist input. Curbside Consults makes that input accessible without the delay and overhead of a formal consultation, while keeping the discussion on a verified professional platform.

Frequently asked questions

Is a curbside consult a formal consultation?

No. A curbside consult is an informal, asynchronous discussion for guidance. It does not replace a formal consultation when one is clinically indicated.

Who answers the questions?

Verified Medgram members, including specialists and experienced clinicians, can respond. Responses represent the individual’s professional opinion, not an official consultation.

Should I include patient identifiers?

No. Posts must be anonymized and free of identifiable patient information, consistent with HIPAA and institutional privacy policies.
